The ‘Hellephant’ in the Room is a Super Charger
The Dodge Charger, one of the most iconic vehicles of its time, has been reimagined showcasing the Mopar brand’s new ‘Hellephant’ 426 Supercharged Mopar Crate HEMI engine and kit. Unveiled at SEMA, this 1968 Dodge ‘Super Charger’ Concept has been adapted to accommodate the ‘Hellephant’ engine, enabling this classic to put 1,000 bhp on to the road through a factory manual six-speed Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat gearbox.
The ‘Super Charger’ assumes a wide body stance thanks to front and rear fibreglass wheel arches painted De Grigio Grey Metallic. The front wheels are pushed forward to accommodate the arches and shorten the Charger’s overhang, extending the wheelbase. Custom fibreglass front and rear bumpers are flushed up and shortened across the car to provide an integrated design. The fibreglass front chin splitter takes influence from the Demon, while the custom rear spoiler is inspired by the modern Charger R/T.
Inside, door panels and interior trim are all Satin Black. A Dodge Viper steering wheel is present and the instrument panel is finish in the same De Grigio Grey body colour. The factory front seats have been replaced with Dodge Viper seats wrapped in Alcantara leather accented with red stitching and are fitted with four-point Sabelt black racing harnesses.
