Death Race 2000's 'The Alligator'

After the world collapse of 1979, the United Provinces, formally the United States, falls under the control of the tyrannical Mr. President (Sandy McCallum) who creates the annual Transcontinental Road Race. The sporting event requires five drivers to race across the country while running over pedestrians along the way to earn points. At the forefront of the race is the mysteriously masked Frankenstein (David Carradine) whose weapon of choice comes fully equipped with real horns from a bull for optimum point scoring.

Based on a 1975 Chevrolet C3 Corvette, ‘The Alligator’ from Death Race 2000 (1975), is just one of over 40 Hollywood vehicles from cult classic films and video games to feature in the Petersen Automotive Museum’s latest exhibit – ‘Hollywood Dream Machines: Vehicles of Science Fiction and Fantasy’. Vehicles, costumes, props and original blueprints from classic and modern-day film series and video games such as Transformers, Iron Man, Mad Max, Halo and many more will be on display until March 2020.
