BMW’s Batmobile

Another new series of art prints have arrived in the Ecurie store. This time it’s the turn BMW’s iconic 3.0 CSL, available in three different colours and three different sizes for your wall. And, with our production partner, no matter where you are in the world, your artwork can be printed locally and on its way to you in a matter of days.

Introduced in early 1970s, the BMW 3.0 CSL was a homologation special built to make the car eligible for racing in the European Touring Car Championship.

It came with an aerodynamic package including a large front spoiler, short fins along the front arches, a spoiler above the rear window, and a tall rear wing. The rear wings were not installed at the factory, but were left in the boot for installation after purchase. This was done because the wings were illegal for use on German roads. The full aero package earned the racing CSLs the nickname ‘Batmobile’.
