Alpine x Mathieu Cesar

French photographer Mathieu Cesar is renowned for his evocative black-and-white portraits, blending light, shadow, and contrast to capture raw emotion. A lifelong car enthusiast, Cesar has now turned his lens and vision to Alpine, creating an extraordinary monochromatic reinterpretation of the iconic A110.

By stripping the car of colour, Cesar transforms the A110 into a sculptural work of art. The interplay of black, white, and grey tones accentuates the vehicle's timeless curves, aerodynamic lines, and powerful details. This collaboration merges Cesar's retro-futuristic artistry with Alpine's engineering excellence, embodying a vision where simplicity meets sophistication.

The A110 Monochromatic reflects both artistic and automotive precision. Its gradient exterior transitions seamlessly from white to gloss black, echoing the purity of a photograph's tonal range. Inside, the black-and-white palette continues with 3D-printed elements and gradient upholstery, creating a striking yet minimalistic aesthetic.

This project is the latest in Alpine's artistic series, following collaborations with Felipe Pantone, the Obvious Collective, and Arne Quinze. With Mathieu Cesar, Alpine celebrates creativity, pushing the boundaries of design while staying true to its legacy of innovation and performance. The result is not just a car, but a piece of art—a vision of timeless elegance captured through the lens of a master storyteller.
