Goodwood celebrates Gordon Murray

The Goodwood Festival of Speed has revealed its 2025 Central Feature: a striking sculpture honouring 60 years of Gordon Murray’s groundbreaking automotive design career. Created by renowned artist Gerry Judah and sponsored by Gordon Murray Automotive, the installation features two icons from Murray’s legacy, the GMA T.50 and the Brabham BT52.

Murray’s six-decade career has been defined by his relentless pursuit of lightweight engineering. From his time as Technical Director in Formula 1, where he penned five title-winning cars for Brabham and McLaren, to creating the legendary McLaren F1, his impact on motorsport and road car design is unparalleled. Since founding Gordon Murray Design in 2007, and later GMA, Murray has continued to set new benchmarks in automotive innovation.

This year’s Central Feature is not just a tribute to Murray’s achievements, but a celebration of engineering purity, performance, and timeless design.
