1958 Land Rover Cuthbertson Tracked Utility Vehicle

Cuthbertson was a manufacturer of rubber tracks, dating back to World War II, and designed the first endless rubber belt. This led to many developments including half tracks, the unique 'Water Buffalo' and the Land Rover conversions specifically for farmers forced to work in an uneven, hostile landscape.

This Series II Land Rover has one of James A Cuthbertson Ltd's tracked conversions, which was fitted in 1958 when the vehicle was new. Restored in 2000 to a very high standard, it's fitted with a 2,286cc petrol-engine and power steering on the 109" wheelbase. Surely this has to be the ultimate off-roader and is believed to be the only Cuthbertson Land Rover currently in the UK.

Bonhams will be offering this example, at their upcoming Goodwood Revival Auction on the 9th September, its estimated value is between £50,000 – £60,000. For more information on this and other vehicles at the sale, click on the link below. Photos courtesy of Bonhams.
